About The Gardens

The Gardens is a beautiful, modern seniors living community located in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.  It has 4 floors of residential suites, housing fully equipped kitchens with full-size appliances, in-suite landries and personal balconies.  The community is also protected by a fire suppression system with sprinklers throughout the building and in all units and also has a 24-hour personal emergency system in place.  We are a smoke-free community and have central heat and air conditioning in the building as well as personal heat and air conditioning units in each suite.  All utilities are included in your rent including local phone, high-speed internet and basic cable TV.  You will also have your own personal mailbox and transportation to outings that have been planned by our Activities Directors.  Optional underground parking and storage units are available if you so choose.

We are located next to West Highlands Park, a 3-acre city park with an extensive water feature, trails, playgrounds, a gazebo, a pagoda, seating areas along the path and a suspended bridge.  We are also within walking distance or a very short drive to the many amenities offered at Highland Towne Centre and West Lethbridge Towne Centre, which include major banks, major grocery stores, coffee shops, a florist, a major hardware store, gas stations and vehicle repair shops, doctors, dentists and many more shops and services too numerous to mention.  Everything you should need in a shop or service will be located in this shopping area.  Please click on the 'Location' tab above to see a more detailed list of these amenities and where they are located on the map.

Among the things that make The Gardens special are flexible packages like lunch or dinner meal options and housekeeping service.  The hallways are wide and bright with a multitude of lounge areas where you can sit and relax with a good book or just spend some quiet moments gazing out the windows enjoying the scenery.  We have a private dining room and guest suites, which can be reserved for use by the families and guests of our residents.  The kitchen staff and Activity Coordinators plan themed meal events throughout the year and also organize the very popular and well-attended 'Picnic in the Park' during the summer months. 

Our community has been created with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and will feel like home from the moment you arrive.

To help our residents be their best in mind, body and spirit, our recreation calendar is filled with activities and programs.

Our suites are modern, beautifully designed, wheelchair-accessible and well-equipped. Each unit includes:

*  Spacious, accessible bathrooms equipped with an emergency medical response system; roll-in showers with safety bars and a fold-down chair
*  Washer and dryer in each suite
*  Individually-controlled heating and air conditioning
*  Personal balconies with screens and garden doors

*  30 oz carpet with 7 lb underlay
*  Small pets welcome (one per suite)

About Lethbridge

Lethbridge, Alberta is one of the warmest and sunniest cities in Canada, with a population of 94,804 residents. The community is proud of its numerous parks and recreational facilities, as well as its friendliness and community spirit.

The city of Lethbridge is Alberta's 4th largest by population and the 3rd largest by area.  The nearby Canadian Rockies contribute to the city's warm summers, mild winters and windy climate.  It is the commercial, financial, transportation and industrial center of Southern Alberta. 

Cultural venues in the city include performing art theatres, museums and sports centres.  There are numerous shopping areas, a fantastic choice of restaurants, acres of green spaces and parks and many other amenities. 

Lethbridge is split into 3 geographical areas (north, south and west) and covers an area of 127.19 sq kms (49.11 sq miles).  It is divided by the Oldman River and its valley has been turned into one of the largest urban park systems in North America at 16 sq kms (4,000 acres) of protected land.

The city's historical attractions include the Viaduct (commonly known as the High Level Bridge which is the largest and highest steel trestle bridge in North America), Fort Whoop-Up, Indian Battle Park, the Galt Museum and the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden.  Lethbridge also has an historic Post Office with a working clock tower, a water tower that has been converted to a restaurant and we have Whoop-Up Days Rodeo during the summer.
